Feature fabric of the week - Silk Ombre

Ombre (which kind of means shading in French and what we would call tie-dye but a more stylish version) is very hot at the moment. Prada was the first to use ombre in their 2006 clothing and accessory range. You may also remember Bec Hewitts' bridesmaids in stunning Alex Perry silk ombre dresses in shades of pinks to yellows. The fabric has featured prominently overseas for the upcoming Spring/Summer collections and will be a great style trend for brides/bridesmaids, special occasion and formal wear.

Tessuti (Surry Hills and Wynyard stores only) now stock 100% silk chiffon and georgette ombres in approx 14 different shades ( with more being added ) . The glorious colour combinations are as follows:
Reds to Orange - "Fire"
Browns to Greens - "Chartreuse" (picture 4)
Orange to Teal -"Teal"
Plums to Blues - "Damsen" (picture 3)
Greens to Aquas - "Breeze" (picture 8)
Terracotta to Teal - "Fresco" (picture 1)
Ivory to Nutmegs - "Nutmeg"
Cameo Pink to Blush - "Tea Rose"
Smoke to Truffle - "Truffle" ( picture 2)
Lemon to Pink - "Gelato" ( picture 5)
Coral to Pink - "Cerise" ( picture 6)
Aqua to Bluette - "Blue" ( picture 7)
Platinum to Smoky Black - "Charcoal"

They are impossible to swatch up so I thought I would include some pictures in this post. They absolutely need to be seen to be appreciated and look truly amazing when made up.
