Donna kindly emailed me these photos of her wonderful long-line jacket made up in one of Tessuti's Japanese cottons called 'Origami Blue'. This fabric was divine and came in 3 other colourways. The bad news is that all shades have since sold out... but the good news is that next summer's range of Japanese cottons are due in store end July. There are many more stunning prints like this one.

"This jacket is McCalls 5060 view A. It is a fitted, lined jacket with princess seams with side seam front pockets. The seams are topstitched. I didn't make any major changes to the pattern apart from fully interfacing with Whisperweft. I also used the bag lining method described in "Jackets for Real People". This method is completed on the sewing machine and was first taught to me by the wonderful Robyn Nixon.
The jacket is made in a Japanese cotton that you carried a couple of summers ago.Shoulder pads from Tessuti. The sleeve heads were eased using the bias interlining from an old tie. The buttons are also from Tessuti and were selected by my (then) 9 year old son. I think he has very good taste."
