Emma made this loose-fitting tunic dress using pattern Vogue 8420 firstly out of 100% cotton 'Pink Birds'- although the pattern says that it is suitable for † Moderate Stretch Knits Only. The scoop neckline makes this easy to pull on without requiring a zipper.
Emma modified the pattern by lenghtening the tunic into a dress and eliminated the elastic casing at the front - preferring to gather it in with its self belt.
Stretch fold-over binding was used on the neckline edge - this helped the neckline sit better as it gaped a touch after Emma self-lined the tunic with the upper front facing ( as is in this pattern )
This pattern has a few sleeve variations and here view B was used.
Emma lengthened the sleeves and omitted the self-lined upper facing in this wonderful wool knit version below - made up in 100% wool 'Licorice Stripe'. Tessuti stocks a great range of wool knits in all our stores.
