What do you think and how does it compare to the US version? I think Kristy Hinze would make a great host. I have already missed half of it as we got back mid July. AAAArgh... We don't have Foxtel at home ( the kids would watch it non-stop! ) but it's times like this that I wished we had cable.
The backdrop fabric is 100% Cotton 'Painted Rose'.
Janette is a great sewer and usually makes all of her clothes , but when it comes to tailored jackets or coats , she prefers to leave it to the professionals.
Since we put her onto Lilyn Dressmaking , Janette has been so thrilled with the work and has been back again this winter for more jackets and a new coat. Hopefully Janette will come in again to show us. (...hint! hint!....) I have my camera ready Janette!
Lilyn has a great set up in her shop/workshop in the Mosman Cache ( opp. Accoutrement )- and is situated on the 1st floor. There is a shop full of samples - here you can chose a style you like or she can work with your own design ,then they are made up nextdoor in their workshop.
Check it out if you have a beautiful piece of fabric that you are too frightened to cut up. Tailoring is a fine art & the prices are very reasonable for this quality of workmanship. Call Lilyn on (02)9960 4001 for an appointment.
PS. I had to show you Janette's wonderful Axel Mano handbag. They now have a fabulous new store on Queen Street , Woollahra (note: the old location on Ocean St has been made a clearance shop ).You can call them on 02 9362 3756.
Their bags are also stocked in these great stores.
The latest arrivals of our Japanese cottons are on the floor at all Tessuti stores and you can also view and purchase them on our great new online store.
Which by the way has been very well received. We really appreciated all the great comments and suggestions you had regarding the new Tessuti on-line fabric store ( so keep them coming! ) and there are still so many more fabrics waiting to be put up for you to see - more silks, linens, wools, knits, trims, buttons, sewing aids etc. It's a mammoth task and Ken from Jimmyweb Web Design has been doing a wonderful job.
Here's a sneak peek at this gorgeous silk georgette panel print from a previous Calvin Klein collection (top image courtesy of style.com)that is making its way to Tessuti stores within the next month or so. This image of me is the only decent one we had time to capture. All I have with me are small cuttings and a couple of other silk panels I was able to bring back with me (I need a clear sunny day to take photos!!).
I will post other images in future sneek peek posts before the goods arrive, just to give you an idea of all the goodness that is to come. Stay tuned...
Gosh...It's been a month since the last post!!! I don't know if anyone is still out there? I hope you haven't forgotten me.
I had a very good reason for not blogging and here's a little proof. I have been off buying lots of gorgeous summer fabrics in Italy (plus a little winter too) and also took some time off to enjoy a lovely family holiday with Greg and the girls.
This is a quick post to let you know that I am back and as soon as I get a minute - I will be letting you know about the many beautiful fabrics that will be arriving from Italy around the end of August. Plus all the latest news from our Tessuti stores including the newest arrivals from Japan and from our local designers. There are also some great creations and pattern reviews from our very talented Tessuti customers.
The girls were very patient while we worked and even helped pick out some stunning fabrics.
