l'uccello

If you're strolling the city streets of Melbourne, you really - no, really - must check out l'uccello. Established and run by Kim Hurley - visual merchandiser extraordinaire - l'uccello is the kind of store that you 'ooh' and 'aah' and then 'ooh' a little bit more over. Before discovering this place, I had never seen such a concentrated collection of vintage sewing/craft beauties so gloriously displayed in one place. Simple things that are equally divine for what they are, how they look and the history behind them.

Why don't they package and display zips like this anymore?

Vintage crochet cotton anyone?

And the buttons. Oh, the buttons...

And there's a blog too!
