I am a loooooong time reader of Sugar City Journal and purchased this utterly divine Village Frock pattern about two years ago. It's one of those lovely patterns that is such a pleasure to sew because of its easy-to-follow instructions in a booklet that is put together with all the love and care you just wish you could find in every pattern. And when the kid is all dressed up in her frock, I just want to whisk her away to a flower-filled, country field. Cue skipping and one large wicker basket.
Unfortunately, the pattern is no longer available but email Lynne
Thanks Lynne and Melissa for creating such a beautiful design!

Love this...At first glance, it looks knitted...and I think there would be a way to recreate a knitted version. Hmmm. An idea. Anyhow, love it, especially the row of buttons.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Lovely fabric choice. I love this pattern so sad to see it's been sold out for a while. Might try my hand at drafting something similar.
ReplyDeleteso lovely Lisa ....the whole combination of red shoes or lime stockings and boots is adorable. x
ReplyDeleteLovely- I thought I spotted this lying in the shop the last time I was in.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is so lovely and timeless. I made one for my niece about 18months ago and it still looks fantastic. I made it up in a beautiful grey (Tessuti) linen with red buttons. When she first wore it it hung below her knees and now it is above but still looks great. Best little girls pattern every & I think it would be great in one of those cute Japanese fabrics cut as a top for the summer!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful little model! How cute, original and yes delightful!
ReplyDeleteoh my, this dress is possibly the cutest I've ever seen. If I had a girl she would be wearing this!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! I also have long admired all the versions of the dress made up on sugar city journal. Evie's version is divine, especially with the tights and boots.
ReplyDeleteHow delightful.
ReplyDeleteEvie spent her last day in Prep in this divine dress and she looked gorgeous. In real life it's just beautiful....almost as beautiful as Evie herself!
