Haven't we all got left over bits of fabric, many precious but useless left over scraps after cutting out our sewing projects?
Here's a fabulous idea created by Victoria - a winner in the Frock Up In Colour category, in this year's Tessuti Awards.
Using left-over bits of linen and Japanese cotton Imazu Cherry Flowers, Victoria made up this simple, but striking two-tone linen tunic dress! The top and bottom half of the tunic were sewn together and then the desired contrast and printed pieces were viesoflixed on, using normal polyester sewing thread, edge stitched around the pieces using an embroidery blanket stitch setting. I absolutely love this idea, it's got me thinking about endless possibilities and the scraps that got away...
