Modiccian Mosaic Drawstring Dress

Last week I posted Lily's maxi dress . Here's sister Ruby's stunning, similar version made up in our Italian digital printed silk satin Modiccian Mosaic

The colours in this print just scream summer in the most stylish of ways!

To make this all you need are two lengths of fabric as the pattern consists of two rectangular pieces with side shaping. The front is cut on the fold and the back cut with centre back seam and keyhole opening. The armholes are cut away and neatened back with the front and back neckline turned back to create a tunnel casing. A long, self-made tie is fed through the tunnel and tied at centre back to create a halter neck (like Ruby's) or a drawstring dress where the armhole sits lower and the ties create straps, very similar to McCalls 6115. Super easy and very striking!

Other suitable fabrics to make an equally gorgeous summer drawstring dress are:

 Petruccian Paisley
 Campanian Paisley
Floral Batik
Etnico Bubble Gum
Mauve Marmalade
Blue Tropici
Blue Moderno
Aloha Cat
