'Awarded the prestigious Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, SOUL KITCHEN is an hilarious, fast paced story of a young restaurant owner whose fortunes take a rollercoaster ride. The food isn't exactly top notch in Zino's Soul Kitchen restaurant, but his clientele remain loyal, until he brings in a talented (but temperamental) chef to improve the fare. Faced with empty tables, Zino's problems are compounded by a girlfriend who insists he moves to China with her, a brother who's always on the wrong side of the law, a developer who will employ any measure necessary to gain the title of the restaurant, and a back strain that leaves him prostrate. Things have a funny way of working themselves out, but before that happens, Zinos is going to have to experience a lot more pain. Reminiscent of RUN LOLA RUN and LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, with a great cast and featuring a very funky soundtrack, SOUL KITCHEN is a rollicking good ride, and one of the coolest movies we've seen in a long time.'
