Am I crazy? I had second thoughts about posting this pattern review, seeing that the temperature has dropped suddenly...brrrrrr! It was literally 5 days ago that I wore this top, one sunny and perfect day for the road trip with Greg and the girls, down south to Melbourne for Easter celebrations with family.
Here I am at our pitstop in Holbrook wearing a new top I made using our Liberty of London cotton lawn - Wiltshire Olive and Built By Wendy pattern - McCalls 3964. I've had the pattern in my collection for a while and have been inspired to make it finally after seeing this version on Pinterest.
For my top I cut the size 12 and made some minor alterations, like eliminate the gathers at the front yoke edge near the armholes - here I placed the pattern pieces together and recut the armhole. At the back I redistributed the gathers to the centre back, instead of gathering close to the side back as the pattern stated, it looks a lot nicer this way and I lengthened the top by approx 5cm.
I'm really happy with how it turned out and that I had one day to wear it out before putting it away for next summer!

Very pretty fabric and top. Can't go past a Liberty. I seem to have a similar knack of making garments at the end of the season and not getting much of a chance to wear them.
ReplyDeletethank you Sew Indigo!
