Great British Sewing Bee - Episode 2

For everyone keen (especially Gail) to see the next episode of The Great British Sewing Bee. Here's episode 2...

Wouldn't an Australian version of this show be a fantastic idea? I think we have fabulous home sewers in this country!

  2. Thank you! I've been waiting for it to turn up too. Loved the first episode... now to settle down with a cup of tea and watch this one.
And an Australian version would be wonderful.

  3. Colette, perhaps you should approach the ABC as a partner for the series. Supply all the fabrics etc.

I'm actually surprised they didn't get some really good sewers on, from the whole of england. There are a couple with decent skills but none that you think . WOW!

Still drooling over Patrick, and he's NOT GAY!!

  5. Thank you! I've been hanging out for Ep 2, I think I love it more that Game of Thrones! Yes, an Aus version would be super duper. Btw have you seen the Patrick blog badges that are floating around? There's a book of the show, too. http://handmadejane.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/great-british-sewing-bee-blog-tour.html ;-)

    1. Yes Jen, I too am juggling this and Game of Thrones! At least I can watch the TGBSB with my 8yo daughter who, speaking of which, is currently reading Truly Tan and LOVING it!

  6. Loved this episode. I won't spoil the fun if you haven't seen it yet, but the decisions on who should leave were clear cut when you consider the requirements set for the task.
I do like the personalities of all the participants and the simple format of the show that just flows through to a conclusion. It was great to see the participants enjoying each other's company at the cafe; there is respect for everyone's abilities and their enthusiasm for the craft of garment construction is apparent. Unlike other 'reality' shows there are no endless recaps, and the focus remains firmly on the products.
Back to my sewing to mull over the possible challenges that will be revealed next week!
Have you contacted the ABC yet? :)

  7. Am enjoying this too, although I can't believe these were the "best" home sewers they could find, but rather an interesting mix of people who enjoy sewing.
I do like the fact they don't endlessly rehash what they just showed.
yes an Aussie version would be great to watch!
