ReplyDeletelovely, lovely, lovely.
Excellent idea and customer service, letting us know the details of the PDF first. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove it and thanks for info on pattern printing
ReplyDeleteWonderful models also!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this dress - just what I have been waiting for :-)
ReplyDeleteBut, I would prefer a straight hem rather than the curved at each side - as I'm a beginner I'm not sure if this would this be easy to alter?
Yes Janette S - you can easily straighten the hem to eliminate the peak at the side seams. The safest option for you as a beginner sewer is to make up the dress, and before hemming and whilst wearing the dress get a friend to level off the hem measuring up from the floor to the centre front measurement then mark this measurement right around the hem and then cut off the excess at the side seams. This way you will get the hem sitting level on your dress.
DeleteThen you can remove the amount taken off your dress on your pattern.
Hope this makes sense :)
I love this dress too, except for the one lapel. think I would have to leave that off.

Hi Anonymous,
DeleteYou could easily make this as a v-neck dress , by cutting the front and facings on the fold, tcutting the v-neck shaping and eliminating the lapel shaping.
Is there much difference between the top and the dress? Could I just use the bodice of the dress to make the top? That way I could check the fit before cutting out the dress.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret,
DeleteThe bodice of the top and dress are quite different. The top is longer in the bodice, is a looser and flared fit at the bottom and doesn't have a centre back seam. The dress version is more fitted in the bodice.
You can try it using the Sophie Dress bodice, but you will need to make these changes to your pattern to achieve the same look.
Ok i just adore this pattern! How can i buy it?
ReplyDeleteHi Helen,
