Pattern Review - Vogue 8232

Everyone's favourite Sew Tessuti contributor Georgia has been at it again.... this time with yet another wonderful dress.

Here's one for all the polka dot lovers out there. Did you know that our customers most commonly refer to this movie and Julia Robert's chocolate spotted version when they talk about wanting to make a polka dot dress. It's true and the movie was released 18 years ago!!! See Georgia's other lovely polka dot creation here.

I recall Georgia having a hard time deciding on the Lemon Fuji or Chocolate Fuji Spot to make her version using pattern Vogue 8232 - she eventually settled on the sunny citrus yellow colourway to match some great shoes and later found this fab vintage jade belt to finish off the look! Nice.

Note:The only thing to watch in this Vogue 8232 pattern is the neckline. Georgia has made it once before and found that it gaped - probably too low in the neck - so best to make a calico of the bodice and pinch out any excess evenly, if needed.

Don't forget it's SALE time at Tessuti, you can also take advantage of a 30% discount on cottons, linens and silks on our online store - just remember to copy and paste that funny code!!!

  2. Gorgeous, so simple yet stunning. It really annoys me when patterns don't sit properly on the neckline.
I love the sale. I'm getting some choc fuji on the way so hopefully will make something nice out of it.
