As it turns out, Our Fave Top has become, for many of you, your fave top too. Since we uploaded the pattern, we've had over four thousand downloads! I've just made another two. Here's my cropped version in oh-so-lovely Liberty of London Village Jersey in Fujio Black (still available in Melbourne. Also available in Navy).
Margot from Chatswood made up hers in our poly/rayon knit, Number Six...
Mrs. T - Evie's most excellent teacher (don't let the snoozin' bear in the background fool you) - made hers in our wool knit Aerial Camouflage (sold out)...
And Nichola made this mini-me version for Evie's birthday. The kid loves hers as much as I love mine and would wear it every day if she could. Like mother....

I HAVE!!! And I love it so much... I adjusted the pattern a little and made it in linen too. I have been meaning to write to you and share this as it works beautifully in linen, with some minor modifications to the pattern. Today I posted images on my blog about the two I have made so far and linked back to your blog.

I am hoping someone sees this! I don't have an overlocker, nor have I ever done the two needle thing! I wonder if my machine can even do it...Can this be done without an overlocker?

DeleteWe see it :) Yes all domestic machines can do the twin needle thing, you just need to purchase a stretch twin needle. You can see a tutorial here on Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xErVBi4q-w4.
The top can be made without an overlocker, you can sew the top with your machine set on a stretch stitch setting (check your machine manual) and remember to take the correct seam allowance as indicated in the pattern. The Fave Top is an easy make. Hope you give it a try.
Hilarious! I intended on making this top ages ago and as I remembered this pattern I've been reading the comments and prepping to make it. Then I stumble upon my old comment and question! Thanks for clarifying. Sorry my gratitude is a year late.
