NEW :: Brooklyn Coat Pattern

Twelve months ago to the day, we released our Sydney Jacket pattern. The response was phenomenal (thank you!) and we hope you love this new pattern just as much.
Brooklyn Coat in Plum Tepore
Meet our Brooklyn Coat. This oversized, boxy design features dropped shoulders and a fold over collar with front and back patch pockets. The full length sleeves are finished with a turned cuff.
The raw edge coat can be worn loosely open or secured with a decorative pin for extra toasty neck warmth. It really is the perfect cover up for the autumn/winter months and ideal for layering too.
Brooklyn Coat in Slate Tepore
The Brooklyn Coat is best made up in boiled wools and also suitable for ponti, boiled felted wools and neoprene fabrics. The pattern is now available in both hardcopy and PDF print-at-home/copy shop versions and pattern includes Australian sizes XXS through to XL.

  1. I bought grey boiled wool in Melb last week and have been dithering about what to make ever since. The search is over!

    1. Thanks ky_hiker! The easy part is that you can sew the coat without the back pockets.

    1. Yes Anonymous, bum pockets aren't for everyone and can easily be left off the coat :)

  5. I love this! It's a terrific addition to your pattern range. I live in the Sydney (I made two for me and two for friends) throughout winter and can't wait to get my hands on this one. If only we'd get some winter in Brisbane!!!

  6. I have just made the Brooklyn coat and it is fabulous. The collar design allows you to create so many different looks when wearing your coat. I also love the "bum" pockets as they are a great design feature and make this coat a "must have" for your winter wardrobe. Thank you Tessuit x

  7. Before I buy the pattern - which I love - could someone please tell me how much yardage it requires. I have a lovely piece of felted cashmere - a little over 2 yds, 60-62" wide. Would that be enough fabric for this coat?

    1. Hi Barbara. Meterage/yardage will depend on which size you make up. If you follow the links in the blog post above, it'll will take you to the online store listing which lists sizes and corresponding meterage. From there, you'll just need to do an online conversion to imperial measurements.

    Are you able to tell me what size the lady in the plum coating is wearing please?

    Thanks.
