Liberty Kitty Grace Dress

Here's another lovely version of pattern E from Stylish Dress Book 1, made up by Stephanie in Liberty of London 100% Tana Lawn Cotton Kitty Grace Aqua (now only available at Tessuti Melbourne)

We're all very excited about the latest summer Liberty Of London collection arriving at the end of Jan/early Feb. Included are beautiful seasonal prints and some pretty printed silk/cotton voiles too!

  1. Is it underlined or lined? Pretty, but seems to unsubstantial for Liberty fabric on its own.

  2. Gorgeous. But timely, and eep, too. I've just cut out what I thought was this very dress (view E, SDB#1) in another LoL print, but the pattern layout and instructions page has the pleats starting at the neckline not the skirt. Stephanie's is the same as the made-up photos of the dress, but I just can't see it in the book. I think I'll just follow the directions as they are, while secretly wishing it looked more like this!

  3. Hi Anonymous,
Stephanie's dress is unlined, and not unsubstantial at all. Trust me I saw it up close! Just perfect for a cool and easy summer dress in this muggy weather!

  4. Hi El Thomas,

Yes that is right, the inverted pleats do start up top at the neckline. They are sewn down the bodice front to stop approx above the waistline and open up there. If you follow the instructions you will get the same result!
    Goodluck

  5. Thanks Colette, I'm very relieved! And when I look closely at the pic I can in fact see the sewn down pleats. Look out tomorrow!
